​Hi! I’m Chantel, a dedicated dog walker and proud pet parent based in Davisville, Midtown Toronto, also serving the amazing pet families of Lawrence Park, Leaside, and Midtown. Growing up surrounded by dogs like German Shepherds and Rottweilers, I developed a deep appreciation for the unique bond we share with our furry companions. In 2017, Penny, our fun-loving red Labrador, stole my heart. Lucky Penny Pet Care was born in 2020, after leaving a career in Interior Design to be more present with my son. With years of hands-on experience and formal training under my belt, I now offer loving, fully insured dog walking services with a strong emphasis on safety, enrichment, and pack harmony.

I believe in positive reinforcement and force-free pack leadership. Every pup in my care is treated with respect, patience, and love. I’m pet first aid and CPR certified, insured, and proudly hold a City of Toronto Commercial Dog Walker Permit to walk up to six dogs safely. Before joining our off-leash adventures or group walks, each dog receives a thoughtful personality and safety assessment. My focus on matching dogs by energy level and play style means your pup is always in good company.

We take great care in selecting dogs to join our pack, ensuring that their play styles and personalities complement each other. Getting to know each dog’s unique quirks and preferences is a joy for both me and Maddy, as it helps us make sure every furry friend is happy and fully engaged during our outings.

Safety is always our top priority. Before welcoming a new member, we conduct thorough assessments to ensure they’ll integrate well with our pack dynamics. Both Maddy and I are committed to positive, force-free handling and to reading dog body language so that we’re always attuned to their needs.
I’m fully insured, hold a dog walking permit from the City of Toronto, and am pet first aid and CPR certified, plus I always carry a pet first aid kit on walks. Maddy will be training closely under me for the coming months to learn all of our safety standards and pack routines.
During our walks, we focus on reinforcing positive behaviours and building strong bonds, making every outing an enriching and joyful experience. Whether it’s group pack adventures or extra puppy support, we work together to ensure your dogs feel safe, loved, and fulfilled.

Madeleine Kocher, Pack Leader
Madeleine’s journey with dogs started at home, when her family welcomed their first pup, Izzy, a sweet and energetic Malshi. Izzy taught her firsthand how deeply dogs can impact our lives; offering comfort, companionship, and plenty of laughter. Over the years, Madeleine’s love for animals only grew, and when she began walking dogs for families in her neighbourhood, she quickly knew this was more than just a side job, it was a calling.
With a background as a freelance artist, Maddy brings creativity, patience, and a calming presence to every walk. She loves being outdoors, building bonds with each dog, and creating moments of joy during their adventures. As part of the Lucky Penny Pet Care team, Madeleine is proud to work with a woman-owned business that values safety, trust, and fun. The pups are drawn to her calming energy and enjoy getting extra love!
