What age can my puppy join a pack in the off leash dog park?I will take puppies that are at least 6 months old and can demonstrate reliable obedience commands (recall, sit and stay) and social skills before participating in off-leash activities with the dog pack. Puppies under 6 month old are still in their crucial developmental stage, and their behaviour can be unpredictable. By ensuring they have reliable obedience commands and social skills, we can mitigate the risk of them getting into trouble or being overwhelmed. This rule also promotes safety for both the puppy and the rest of the dog pack, fostering a positive and enjoyable experience for all involved.

Do you allow intact (unneutered) dogs in your pack? These rules aim to ensure the safety, health, and enjoyment of all dogs and their owners visiting the dog park, while also addressing concerns related to unneutered dogs' behaviour and reproductive health. Female puppies typically go into their first heat cycle between the ages of 6 to 12 months, but this can vary depending on the breed and individual dog. Female dogs in heat will be temporarily not allowed in the pack to prevent unwanted breeding and potential conflicts with other dogs, especially intact males. We will take intact male puppies to the dog park until there becomes an issue. We will closely supervise the intact puppy at all times while inside the park to prevent any potential conflicts or incidents. Intact male puppies can potentially become an issue when they reach sexual maturity, which typically occurs between six and twelve months of age, although it can vary depending on the breed and individual dog. Once they or other dogs start exhibiting behaviours related to their hormones, such as mounting, roaming in search of females, and potentially aggressive behaviour we will then have to pull them from the pack until they are neutered and recovered for 30 days after surgery.

What safety measures do you have in place during walks?Safety is our top priority during every dog walk. Here are some of the safety measures we have in place: Leash Policy: We ensure that all dogs are leashed securely before leaving the premises to prevent any incidents of running off or unexpected encounters with other animals or hazards. They are leashed at all times, unless in a designated off leash fenced in area. Small Group Size: We maintain small group sizes of the permitted 6 dogs to ensure that each dog receives individual attention and supervision, minimizing the risk of conflicts or accidents. Identification and Contact Information: Each dog wears identification tags with contact information in case of emergencies or if they become separated from the walker. First Aid Training: Our dog walkers are trained in pet first aid and CPR, ensuring they can respond quickly and effectively to any emergencies or medical situations that may arise during walks. Weather Considerations: We take weather conditions into account and adjust the length and intensity of walks accordingly to ensure the comfort and safety of the dogs, especially during extreme heat or cold. Communication with Owners: We maintain open communication with owners and provide updates on their dog's well-being and any notable incidents that occur during the walk. Emergency Preparedness: Our dog walkers are equipped with emergency supplies, such as a first aid kit and contact information for local veterinary clinics, to handle any unexpected situations that may arise. By implementing these safety measures, we strive to provide a secure and enjoyable walking experience for every dog in our care.

How do you ensure my dog's comfort and well-being during walks?Ensuring your dog's comfort and well-being during walks is our utmost priority. Here's how we achieve that: Individualized Attention: I take the time to understand your dog's personality, preferences, and physical condition to provide a customized experience. I then select which dog pack will meet your dog's specific needs, whether they prefer a leisurely stroll or a more energetic outing. Positive Reinforcement: We use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage good behaviour and create a positive association with walks. This may include praise, treats, or favourite toys to make the experience enjoyable for your dog. Regular Breaks: We ensure that your dog has ample opportunities for bathroom breaks, hydration, and rest during the walk/ play session. I am attentive to your dog's cues and adjust the pace and duration of the walk accordingly. Comfortable Equipment: We use high-quality leashes, harnesses, and other walking equipment that are comfortable and secure for your dog. Properly fitted gear ensures that your dog feels secure and can move comfortably during the walk. Weather Considerations: We take weather conditions into account and make adjustments to ensure your dog's comfort and safety. During hot weather, we shorten the play sessions/ walks and provide access to shade and ample water. In cold weather, we outfit your dog with appropriate attire to keep them warm and protected. We monitor them for any sings of discomfort. Communication with Owners: We maintain open communication with owners and provide updates on their dog's well-being, including any notable observations or concerns during the walk. This allows you to have peace of mind knowing that your dog is in good hands. By prioritizing your dog's comfort and well-being, we strive to make every walk a positive and enjoyable experience for both you and your furry companion.
